Obituary of Barbara J. Clubb

Barbara Jeanne Clubb was born on July 12, 1938 in New York, New York, in the great famous neighborhood known as Harlem. Barbara transitioned into her heavenly home on February 25, 2024. Close friends knew her by her nickname :"Babs" while nieces and nephews called her "Auntie Bobbie". Barbara was the second of three children to the late Cato and Leola Hill. She's preceded in death by her husband Samuel Clubb; brothers Theodore Hill and Robert J. Dudley, and her sister Loretta J. Clark. Barbara attended Julia Richman High School. After graduating she enrolled in Foundling Hospital in February 1958. Barbara received her certification in 1959 in Infant Care. Here she was assigned to the labor ward, delivery and caring for newborn babies. Her graduating class in 1959 was featured in the Daily News and pledged as the 1st graduating class from the Founding Hospital labor and delivery ward. Barbara also worked several years at Flower Fith Avenue Hospital continuing her career in labor, delivery, and infant care. Thereafter, Barbara changed her career path and sought employment at the New York Health Departmnt of Vital Statistics as a clerical worker. Barbara enjoyed working in the medical field. She returned to school and during the seventies, she became a certified EKG Technician. Barbara and her husband relocated to Atlantic City in 1981. Here she continued to pursue her career as an EKG Technician at Atlantic City Medical Center. She trained her coworkers to pursue their EKG certification until she retired in 1984. Barbara Clubb will be missed and remembered by her family and friends. Barbara is survived by her daughter; her Princess, Pride and Joy -Kelly J. Woody; sister Kay Harvey onfNew Haven, Connecticut and her cousin Brenda Black; Nieces/Nephews Toni Clark, Terri Clark, Robbin Covington, Debra Fort, Joseph Dudley, Gregory Holz, Robert Wright and Donald Williams; grandnephew/grandnieces: Terrell Hillard, Lil Joe Dudley, Damian Dudley, Devin Dudley, Dominick Barne, Sam Fort and Mariah Covington and her cousin Karen Scott; and a host of great grandnephews/great grandnieces, family and friends. Services and repass for Barbara Jeanne Clubb will be held Thursday, March 28, 2024 at the Soldiers Home1510 Adriatic Avenue, Atlantic City, NJ 08401. Gormley Funeral Home LLC/comcast.com.
