Barbara and I met in February 1958 at the New York Foundling Hospital. It didn't take long for us to become friends. After graduation in February 1959 I WENT TO WORK AT Huguenot and Barbara at Flower 5th Ave. Hospital. When I left Huguenot I came to work at Flower 5th Ave also. by the middle of the 1960,s most of us were getting married, starting families and moving to other states. I lost touch with Barbara and our friend Lorraine for many years.
In 2009 I went on line and found the Foundling would be celebrating their 140th anniversary. I did a search on line and found Lorraine. She told me that she and Barbara kept in touch over all these years. I told Lorraine and Barbara I would be coming to the Foundling's anniversary in New York and would like to meet them there. They were not able to come but did get to see both a them a year later when I came back to visit family. We kept in touch from then on by phone. I feel very blessed to have been able to reunite with two friends that had played such an important part in my life. About a month before Barbara passed we talked about our time at the Foundling and how we felt that it was one of the best experiences in our lives. Yes I will miss Barbara and Lorraine but will smile when I remember how much their friendship meant to me and always will.
