Maria Acevedo 89 of Atlantic City, passed away at home on September 15, 2023.
She was born June 17, 1934 in Medellin, Colombia. In 1990 she moved to the United States where she dedicated herself to helping raise her grandchildren.
She enjoyed being a part of school trips and volunteering her time to help with any activities that involved her grandchildren.
Maria worked at Trump Marina/Golden Nugget for 20 years and enjoyed her work experience.
Maria is survived by her sister Maria Olga; her daughter Gladys; nephew Luis; niece Marta; her grandchildren and four great-grand children.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated for Maria Acevedo 11:00am Monday, September 25, 2023 at Our Lady Star of the Sea Church 2651 Atlantic Avenue, Atlantic City. Relatives and friends may begin to gather at the church from 10:00am. Following Mass Maria will be cremated. Following cremation, her cremains will be laid to rest at Holy Cross Cemetery, Mays Landing. Arrangements by the Gormley Funeral Home LLC/AC (gormleyfuneralhomellc.com).
