Obituary of Roseann T Gerri

Roseann T. Gerri (nee McGettigan) - 79, of Northfield, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Friday, February 24, 2023. Roseann was born in Atlantic City, NJ on February 18, 1944 to the late John and Anna McGettigan. Raised in Atlantic City, Roseann attended Our Lady Star of the Sea Elementary School and Atlantic City High School. Following graduation, Roseann started her career as an assistant at Hallowell, Sulzberger & Jenks Stock Brokerage office in Atlantic City before starting her 30 year career as Office Manager for The MITRE Corporation's local office. Roseann married the love of her life, Gene Gerri, in 1965 at Our Lady Star of the Sea in Atlantic City and they remained happily married for 30 years until Gene's passing. Roseann and Gene were avid bowlers in their younger years. As a member of a large Irish Catholic family, Roseann enjoyed attending and participating in the many family events. She was dearly loved by her many nieces and nephews. Roseann is predeceased by her beloved husband, Gene Gerri, parents John and Anna McGettigan, sister Sally McGettigan, and brother John McGettigan. Roseann is survived by her sisters Patricia Robey (Tom), Marie McGettigan-Costan, Theresa Kennedy, Kathleen Calvi (Joe); brothers Michael McGettigan, James McGettigan (Pat), Edward McGettigan (Starr), and many nieces, nephews and cousins. A Mass of Christian burial will be Celebrated for Roseann Gerri 11AM Wednesday, March 1,2023 at Our Lady Star of the Sea Roman Catholic Church at 2651 Atlantic Ave, Atlantic City, NJ. Visitation will be from 9:30AM to 11AM at the church. The Rite of Committal and Entombment will be offered at Holy Cross Cemetery Mausoleum 5061 Harding Highway (Route 40) in Mays Landing, NJ, following Mass.
