Melody Taylor Ghafer (Mel) 68, of Atlantic City, NJ passed away peacefully on January 31, 2023 with her loving daughter and son by her side, after a courageous 5 year battle with cancer. Melody was born in Philadelphia, but raised as an Atlantic City native and graduated from Atlantic City High School in 1972. She helped with the opening of the Casinos in 1978. Later creating her long time work home at Resorts Casino where her work friends at Resorts soon turned into family. Mel enjoyed spending time on the beach, getting together with friends and family, gardening, and traveling. As a loving and devoted mother, her greatest accomplishment was raising her two children. She has been a long time member of the Ventnor Community Church (now known as Waters Edge Church) in Ventnor City, NJ and delighted in volunteering for various events over the years. Mel is survived by her daughter Amber, son Michael, boyfriend Ron, sister Bonnie, and Best Friends Mark and Zelda. Services for Melody will be held at 11am Friday, February 10th, 2023 at Waters Edge Church located at 5300 Ventnor Avenue in Ventnor City, NJ. Family and friends are invited to meet at the church from 10am-11pm. Burial will be held at Holy Cross Cemetery, 5061 Harding Highway (Route 40), Mays Landing, NJ 08330.
