Obituary of Harvey Scott Dalton Johnson

Harvey Scott Dalton Johnson age 64, of Mays Landing, NJ passed away suddenly on Saturday, December 31, 2022. Fondly known to his family as "Hibble Gibble". He was born in Atlantic City and was a Northfield resident for many years until moving to Mays Landing. He attended Northfield Public Schools and graduated from Mainland Regional High School Class of 1976. Harvey loved growing up in Northfield and he cherished his childhood memories. Harvey was a Union Carpenter in Local 623. He was previously employed by various local construction companies and retired from Shore Building Contractors. Harvey loved to travel, and his love of nature took he and his wife Kym to many states and National Parks. Harvey's most recent trip and a dream come true was traveling cross country with his beloved nephews. Harvey had a heart of gold and was one of the kindest souls you could ever meet. He touched many lives and was loved by all who had the privilege of knowing him. Harvey is predeceased by his grandparents, William and Mary Jane Nugent, Edna Magin, Rufus Johnson; his father, Robert J. Johnson "B"; and his brother-in-law, Michael Van Riper. He is survived by his loving mother and best friend, Norma Nugent Johnson; his wife, Kim Brady Johnson; his brother Robert J. Johnson, Jr. (Beth); sisters Nancy Van Riper Fritz (Tom) and Carolyn Johnson Peterson; nephews, Michael Van Riper, Andrew Van Riper (Alison), Robert J. Johnson, III (Chandler), Raymond Johnson (Kate), Charlie Peterson; nieces, Kristen Van Riper, Jessica Johnson (Ian); his aunt, Florence Morello; his uncle Paul Johnson (Terry); two great nephews; 4 great nieces and many loving cousins and friends. Harvey loved all animals and was known to provide food and/or shelter to any creature that came to visit. In his memory, we request donations be made to the Funny Farm Animal Rescue, 6908 Railroad Boulevard, Mays Landing, NJ 08330. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated for Harvey at 12:00 noon Saturday, January 7th at the Saint Maximilian Kolbe Parish, 200 Tuckahoe Road, Marmora, NJ. Friends may call on his family Friday evening, January 6th from 6:00pm to 8:00pm and again on Saturday morning from 10:00am to 11:45am at the church.
