Ava was united in holy matrimony to Larry Brown on July 10, 1971. Larry and Ava Brown were blessed with two children, Kydan Brown and Jenaya Jones (Brown). Ava worked as Executive Director for a community-based AIDS Services Agency, Blacks Against AIDS, because of her love for her community and all the people in the world who were dying from HIV/AIDS. She served unselfishly, often without pay for months but made sure her employees were paid on time. She hired people who lived in the community and helped youth by providing them with a safe place to learn about how to keep themselves safe from HIV/AIDS, giving them strong, positive role models, and providing games and activities for the youth to keep them off the streets. Ava was the owner and operator of Brown's Business Incubator, LLC, which was created to teach youth how to become entrepreneurs. Ava through her business, helped people incorporate their businesses.
