Obituary of Sofia DeCorrea

Sofia DeCorrea, 72 of Galloway Township, NJ, died October 11, 2022 surrounded by loved ones. She wa born in Medellin, Columbia, the daughter of Jose Alvarez and Lucila Arroyave. She was one of six siblings. On April 14, 1992 she married Luis Eduardo Correa, who survives her. Sofia started her professional life as a teacher but would eventually become a doctor. Soon after her meical career kicked off, she would emigrate to the United States and marry. From there she would become a devoted wife, mother and a beloved member of her community. She is survived by her husband Luis; her son David Esteban Correa; her sister Marina; her nieces Laura and Monica and others who had the privilege of having her share her home with them. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated for Sofia DeCorrea 11:00am Saturday, October 15, 2022 at Our Lady Star of the Sea Church 2651 Atlantic Avenue, Atlantic City.
