Florence Armstrong (nee Markey) - cherished Mother, Grandmother and Great-grandmother, passed away on September 30, 2022 in her home in Atlantic City. She lived a full and happy life, was kind, generous and devoted to her family. Florence was born to Joseph and Florence Markey (nee McConville) in 1924. She lived most of her life in Jersey City. She attended Snyder High School and worked for many years at Alpfa Metals, in the accounting department. In 1951, Florence and Jack Armstrong (predeceased) married and they would share 58 years together raising family and traveling the world. Florences' favorite trips were the vacations spent with her children and grandchildren. Florence is survived by her loving children: Robert Armstrong of Bayonne, NJ, Regina Armstrong of Atlantic City, Janice Cox (Ted) of Milton Ga., and Carol Harney (Joe) of Upper Township, NJ; her Grandchildren, Glen Harney (Anastasia), Caitlin Harney-Norcia (RJ), Lindsey Murphy (Bill) and Julie Morgan (Sam); Great-grandchildren, Brendan and Alisa Harney; and many cherished nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated for Florence Armstrong 10:00am Saturday, October 8, 2022 at Our Lady Star of the Sea Church 2651 Atlantic Avenue, Atlantic City. Following Mass, the Rite of Committal will be offered at the Atlantic County Veteran Cemetery, Route 50 South (off Route 40) in Estell Manor, NJ.
