Obituary of Sara Theresa Persenda

PRESENDA, SARA THERESA 89 of Egg Harbor Township (formerly of Atlantic City) passed away peacefully surrounded by loving family. Sara was born in Atlantic City, NJ and lived there for many years before moving to Egg Harbor Township in 1992. She was a graduate of Saint Michael's School and Atlantic City High School. Sara was an active member of Saint Michael's Parish, and the Mary Help of Christians Sodality for many years. She was employed by the National Department Store, where she met her husband Joseph, and the Atlantic City Convention Hall, prior to spending 35 years as a hostess at Tony's Baltimore Grill in Atlantic City. Sara is predeceased by her parents Paolina and Andreano Monreale, her loving husband Joseph of 56 years, her sister Concetta Messina (Monreale), and her brother Charles Monreale. She is survived by son James Persenda of Atlantic City, daughter Maria Fiola (Frank) of EHT, beloved grandchildren Mia Fiola (Jason Paul Curry), Sarina Fiola, great-grandchildren Gianna, Mason, and Riley, and beloved nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated for Sara Teresa Persenda 11:00 am Friday, January 12, 2018, at St. Michael's Church, 10 North Mississippi Avenue, AC. Friends may call from 10:00 am at the Church (parking in the rear). The Rite of Committal will be offered at the Mausoleum in Greenwood Cemetery (off Washington Avenue), Pleasantville. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made, in her memory, to the Parish of St. Monica in Atlantic City. Arrangements by the Gormley Funeral Home LLC, AC.
