Norma Jorquera Babich of Miami, FL died unexpectedly on June 26, 2022. The family is deeply saddened by her sudden death. Norma was born on July 27, 1942 in Santiago, Chile and resided in Miami, FL. her entire adult life, with her children. Norma was the National Champion for Chile, in fencing, in the 1960's and won several National Championships thereafter. Norma moved to the United States in 1970, with her children; Yasna Babich-Tibbitt and Luis G. Babich, and her former husband Louis G. Babich. In Miami, FL., Norma began her career in the Hospitality Industry, working for the famous Dupont Plaza Hotel-Miami. While working at the Dupont Plaza Hotel, she became Director of Housekeeping in just 3 months after being hired. She also established an in-house department that would create and design the uniforms for all of the employees, and design the upholstery for the Hotel calling it "Tailor Made Designs and Needlework". Norma loved to travel, write poetry, photography and music - but most of all she loved her two children very much, they were her entire life.
