Obituary of Richard J. Collins

Richard "Rick" Collins 66 of Galloway Township, NJ (formerly of Atlantic City) peacefully passed away with his family by his side. Rick was a Pleasantville native and graduated from Holy Spirit High School in 1975. He had a strong work ethic and had a few jobs from an early age: pumping gas for Hess, James' Salt Water Taffy factory and Lenox China Glaze department. His lifelong careers were: clammer by day -licensed out of Randall's Seafood in Pleasantville and at night he worked Security at Atlantic Cape Community College for 38 years. Rick was an outdoorsman; he clammed, fished and hunted. He was a wood carver, yard ornament restorer and repairer and an artist. He carved ducks and made whimsical Christmas ornaments. Over the years, he was a member of Our Lady Star of the Sea Church and School PTA; Clark's Cabin; Ducks Unlimited, and Chip Chats wood carving Club. Rick is predeceased by his parents Neil and Mary Jane Collins. He leaves behind a loving wife of 43 years - Tricia (nee Clark) Collins and his amazing, supportive daughter Erin Collins; sisters Pat Lee and Alice Barber; brothers Neil Collins and John Parker Sr.; several nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends Judy and Bill Tracy, Alice Haynes, Michele Clark, Paul Bubeck, Cate Bubeck, Val, Michael, Kelsey and Matt Herron, Patsy and Charlie Fox, Joseph and Emily Clark, Fred Ellenburg, Bob Christensen, Artie and Andrew Kurtz and Tucker Mora, along with the Sunset Irish Mafia - Rob and Justin Hawes, George, Pat and Ryan Mullin, Johnny Parker, Tuc, Chris and Joe Macaluso and Sebastian and Andres Angulo, and lastly, his loving dog and BFF - Tedward. A Memorial Prayer Service will be held for Rick Collins Friday, June 24, 2022 from 10:00am to 12:00pm at the Gormley Funeral Home LLC 2706 Atlantic Avenue, Atlantic City, NJ.
