Michael C. Coan 72 of Somers Point, passed away on May 10, 2022 surrounded by his family, at the home of his nephew Pat Ruane. Mike was born in Atlantic City to Catherine "Toots" (nee Reagan) and Danny Coan on October 11, 1949. He attended Our Lady Star of the Sea and graduated from Holy Spirit High School. He then attended New Hampshire College. Mike left college and came back to the shore, a place where he was proud to be called a local, and helped care for his mother. Mike worked in the casino industry for many years before retiring as an Investigator in the Fraud Department of Atlantic County. He was wealthy in love and friendship. Mike had a magnetic personality and sense of humor that attracted a remarkable group of people with whom he celebrated life. Mike is survived by many ex-girlfriends and endless memories in Margate at the beach. Mike's son has fond memories of Margate - of not being able to walk 10 feet, in the summer, without someone grabbing his Dad to say hello, then immediately telling him that his father was a great guy. Mike was just that friend that everyone loved, or to be in his company and grab a drink. Mike is predeceased by his parents Catherine and Danny Coan and his brother Danny. He is survived by his son Ryan Coan and his wife Caroline; Ryans mother SaraJane Swilky; his sister Mary Ruane and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Mike was a loving and caring father, brother and a close friend to many people.
