Obituary of Charles E. Oldroyd III

OLDROYD III, Charles E., 64 of Egg Harbor Township, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 19, 2017 surrounded by loved ones. Born in Camden, NJ, Charles grew up in Mays Landing and Atlantic City. He dedicated 30 years of his life to the Atlantic County Sheriffs Department before retiring in 2002. Charles was an avid reader who enjoyed history and traveling. In his later years, Charles' most loved pass time was being with his grandsons, Jack Ryan, Nathan, and Roman. A dedicated husband, father, grandfather, and friend, Charles was loved by all and leaves us with countless memories. He is survived by his beloved wife of 43 years, Sophie (nee Brown), daughter Jaclyn and grandsons of Georgia; brother Dennis Oldroyd (Brenda) of Egg Harbor City; sister, and guardian angel Diane Oldroyd of Mays Landing as well as a host of nieces and nephews, especially his #1 girl, Tammy Adams- Krug of Egg Harbor Township. In lieu of flowers, the family requests to continue Charles' Christmas tradition of providing gifts to families in need.
