EDITH THERESA (Iezzi) DABBENIGNO, 99, passed away peacefully on April 5, 2021 in Seashore Gardens Living Center in Galloway Township. Edith was born on November 14, 1921 in Chester, PA to Gustine & Philomena Iezzi. She was predeceased in death by her husband of 69 years Nicholas, her sister Anne Saracini, and brothers Tom and Fred Iezzi. Lovingly known as "Edith" to her friends and to the staff at Seashore Gardens for the past three years, she had many names depending on who was with her: "Meatball" "Mom" "Grand mom" "GG Edy" "Aunt Edie" and "Mrs D". These titles were all endearing titles to her ears and heart. Her home, family, and faith were the most important things in her life. She inherited the "Iezzi temper" therefore missing out on God's gift of patience. However, she exceeded in the sharing of her love, generosity, and compassion. She will be remembered for her warm embrace, her smile, beautiful blue/green eyes, her ice box cake, meatballs and especially a "kiss and a cross" whenever you left her home. Edith is survived by her daughter Marie Nicholes (Harry-decd) of Galloway, Son, Nicholas (Darlene) of Smithville. Grandchildren: Christopher (Erica) of Smithville, Denny (Marybeth) Dabbenigno, Somers Point, Donna Scarabaggio (Kenny) of Barnegat, and Dennis Dabbenigno of Smithville. Great grandchildren: Emilia and William Nicholes, Paige Dabbenigno, Kenny (Jr) Hunter, and Jake Sarabaggio and Lillianna Dabbenigno. Relatives and Friends are invited to Edith's viewing Friday morning April 9th from 9:00am-10:00am at the Gormley Funeral Home LLC, 2706 Atlantic Avenue, Atlantic City, NJ. Viewing will be followed at 11:00am by Mass of Christian Burial at Elizabeth Ann Seton's Parish 591 New Jersey Avenue in Absecon, New Jersey 08201. In appreciation for the exceptional care provided by the staff at the nursing home, donations may be made in Edith's memory to: Seashore Gardens Living Center, 22 West Jimmie Leeds Road, Galloway Township, NJ 08205. ome
