WILHELM, CATHERINE G. (nee Brown) 66, formerly of Atlantic City, passed away suddenly on August 16, 2017. Cathy was born in Atlantic City, NJ and was a member of St. Michael's parish where she assisted with the Celebration of the Wedding of the Sea. She was the owner/operator of Cathy's House of Beauty in Atlantic City for many years. Cathy loved her job as a security guard and table games dealer at Resorts Casino where she met and married the love of her life, Dan. She also worked at Angelo's Fairmount Tavern in Atlantic City. Cathy then went on to become a medical assistant and worked for Dr. Bacarro in Mays Landing. Cathy enjoyed camping, especially at Chip's Folly Campground in New Gretna. She loved to travel and spend time with her family and dog Penny. Cathy was a great cook and loved to entertain for family and friends. She was an avid gardener and raised Koi fish in her pond at her home, which she loved to decorate for Halloween and Christmas. Cathy lived with her family in Egg Harbor Township until 2013 when she moved to Rhode Island with her husband Dan. Cathy is survived by her loving husband Daniel Wilhelm, daughter Christine Haentze and husband Dave and grandson David; two sisters: Patricia Jefferson (John) and Joan Ann Henry (Erv); Aunts Marion Steinman and Charlotte Mangano; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was predeceased by her parents Lawrence P. and Mary G. Brown,; brother Joseph Brown, and sister Mary Nancy Shick. Friends and Relatives may call on Tuesday, August 29th .at the Gormley Funeral Home LLC 2706 Atlantic Avenue, Atlantic City from 9:00am until 11:30am. A Memorial Celebration of Cathy's life will begin at 11:30am. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers donations to the Community Food Bank of New Jersey, 6735 E. Black Horse Pike, Egg Harbor Township, NJ 08234 -would be appreciated. Arrangements by the Gormley Funeral Home LLC,AC.
