Obituary of Grace Sarafina Murphy

Grace S. Murphy (nee Damiano) of Galloway, NJ (Shore Gardens Living Center) entered into eternal live on Sunday, January 24, 2021. Born and raised in Atlantic City, she married the love of her life Walter J. Murphy. They enjoyed a beautiful, happy, loving life together. They traveled often, and Grace really enjoyed cooking Sundays and holiday dinner for family and friends. She was a homemaker and like a mother to all of her nieces and nephews. She was very religious and her faith guided her through life. Grace was predeceased by her husband Walter J. Murphy; parents Salvatore and Angelina Damiano; brothers Joseph and Nick (Bertha) Damiano; sisters Virginia Reale and Sarah Vassallo. She is survived by her caregiver and loving niece Mary Ann Damiano; nieces JoAnn Vassallo, Toni Gardner, Lori Bell, Ginny D'Angelo and Susan D'Angelo; Nephews Joseph (Lisa) Damiano and John D'Angelo (Maria). She also leaves behind many great nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly, with all of her heart. Grace will be dearly and deeply missed and her memory an love will be instilled in all of us. She has made a difference in all of our lives. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated for Grace Murphy 10:00am Thursday, January 28, 2021 at Our Lady Star of the Sea Church 2651 Atlantic Avenue, Atlantic City. The Rite of Committal will be offered at Greenwood Cemetery (off Washington Avenue), Pleasantville following Mass. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Grace Murphy's name to: Seashore Gardens Living Center 22 West Jimmie Leeds Road, Galloway, NJ 08205 or to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-9959.
