Obituary of Helen P Aluise
ALUISE, HELEN MAY (nee Perry), 93 of Atlantic City passed away at her home on Sunday October 15, 2017.
Helen was born in Atlantic City and graduated from Atlantic City High School in 1944. She married the love of her life - Edward Aluise. Ed was allowed to take leave from the Navy, flew to Portland, Maine where Helen resided at the time, married her and returned to the Service. Their love affair lasted 54 years until Ed's passing.
Helen was a faithful parishioner of Our Lady Star of the Sea Church. She was a devoted mother who will be remembered for her giving spirit, ranging from family, friends and her children's friends who she would treat like family (Sue).
Helen ran the family bike shop on the boardwalk in Atlantic City, and later in her life she worked for James Salt Water Taffy, or the "James Gang", as she would call herself and co-workers.
Helen is predeceased by her husband Ed, with whom she is now reunited; her son Edward Jr.; parents Joseph and Leona Perry and brothers Arthur, Lawrence and Joseph.
Helen is survived by her children; Nancy, Joseph, Christine Aluise Ruane (Jim); her brother Walter and sister Margie. She is also survived by her grandchildren; Jennifer, Andrew (Nicole), Joseph, Carolyn (Matt), Aaron, Joey and Sophia; her great grandchildren Helen, Emily, Brian, Olivia and Ellianna and by many nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated for Helen P. Aluise 12 noon Friday October 20, 2017 at St. Michael's Church 10 No. Mississippi Ave. Atlantic City. Relatives and friends may call at the Church from 11am. The Rite of Committal will be offered at Holy Cross Cemetery 5061 Harding Highway (Route 40) Mays Landing, NJ following Mass. Arrangements by the Gormley Funeral Home LLC AC.
