L.B. Vito Galluccio (Lucky) 83, of Atlantic City, NJ, peacefully passed away at his home in Atlantic City, New Jersey, on Sunday, February 12, 2024, after a long battle with cancer. Lucky was a loving person, incredibly friendly, charismatic, and nurturing to both those he had known for a long time and to new acquaintances. Born May 5, 1940, in Latina, Italy to parents Elvira (Conte) and Franco Galluccio, Vito was one of eight children. He is preceded in death by his parents, and his siblings: Emanuele 'Johnny' Galluccio, Theresa Luconi, Amedeo Galluccio, Mario Galluccio and Bruno Galluccio. He is survived by his sister, Elisa del Vecchio, and his brother, Rodolfo 'Rudy' Galluccio; his children, Tamara Sorce (Salvatore), Dean Galluccio (Katie), and Steve Galluccio, Natalie Bowers (Alex), Vito Galluccio (Cate) and Melissa Galluccio; and his grandchildren, Alyssa and Nicholas Galluccio, Arthur and Beatrice Bowers, Vivian and Charlotte Galluccio, Adam Brandon Hines and Emanuel Justin Melon. He also leaves behind his beloved cat, Chopper. After arriving in the United States from Italy in 1953, he spent most of his life residing in Bayonne, East Orange, Brick and Seaside Heights, New Jersey during his earlier years, as well as some time in Florida, before ultimately settling in Atlantic City during his later years. In the tradition of his father, and like many of his brothers and sisters, Vito pursued a career as a skilled barber. Over the span of 45 years, he honed his craft, was extremely talented, and earned the loyalty of his community and countless lifetime clients. He was an entrepreneurial spirit who owned and operated many barber shops and other business ventures throughout his lifetime. Known as "Mr. Lucky" to his friends, Vito enjoyed playing poker and slot machines, and spent much of his time at the casinos, occasionally competing in tournaments. He will be remembered as a husband, father, grandfather, uncle and good friend to many. His friends and family will fondly remember his soothing presence, companionship, and delightful sense of humor, which he infused into every gathering. A memorial for Vito will be held at Gormley Funeral Home LLC 2706 Atlantic Avenue, Atlantic City, NJ 08401 on Sunday, May 19th, 3:00-5:00 P.M. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the national organization, Stop Predatory Gambling Foundation.
