MORRIS, MARY J. (nee Troy), 90 years old, of Atlantic City, NJ passed away November 9, 2017.

Mary J. was a life-long resident of Atlantic City. It was here, in her hometown, that she met her husband, Charles. Mary J. graduated from Holy Spirit High School in 1945 and was a graduating member of the class of 1949 from Georgian Court College in Lakewood, NJ where she continued as a faculty member for the following 8 years. Mary J. then made a career at New Jersey Bell (later renamed Bell Atlantic then Verizon) where she retired in 1985 after 28 years of service. She was a life member of the Telephone Pioneers.

Mary J. is predeceased by the love of her life, Charles J. Morris, her mother and father, John and Helen (Hasson) Troy, her brother, Jack Troy and her sister, Helen Seigeldorf. Her grandmother, Catherine Troy, her aunt, Mary Josephine Troy and her aunt, Helen Moore also predeceased her.

Mary J. is mourned by nieces and nephews, loving great nieces and nephews as well as her much loved great-great nieces and nephews; she is also sadly missed by a lifetime of loving and faithful friends of all ages.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated for Mary Josephine Morris at 11:00am Wednesday, November 15, 2017 at St. Nicholas of Tolentine RC Church, Tennessee and Pacific Avenues in Atlantic City; Mary was baptized and married in this same church. Relatives and friends may call at the church from 9:30am.The Rite of Committal will be offered at Laurel Memorial Park Cemetery, Tilton Road and English Creek Avenue (2301 English Creek Avenue), Egg Harbor Township, NJ. Arrangements by the Gormley Funeral Home LLC, AC.
