SMITH, MARCELLA N. 87, of Las Vegas (formerly of Atlantic City), past away peacefully, October 1, 2017. Born April 16, 1930 to Terrance and Jeanette (nee Boyle) Norton she was raised in the Chelsea Heights Section of Atlantic City. Marcella graduated from Our Lady Star of the Sea Grammar School, and Holy Spirit High School. During her younger years she had work as a secretary and office manager. Marcella was an avid reader and before moving to Las Vegas 23 years ago, she enjoyed riding her bike on the boardwalk with her sister, spending time on the beach, and getting together with friends and family. She is preceded in death by her parents Terrance and Jeanette Norton, husband Edmond Smith and sister Joan Brown. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Denise and Gustav Mauler of Las Vegas, her sister Jeanette Norton of Ventnor as well as nieces, nephew and grandnephews. Marcella will be lovingly missed by those who knew her. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated for Marcella Smith 10:00am Monday, October 9, 2017 at St. Joseph, Husband of Mary Roman Catholic Church at 7260 West Sahara Avenue, Las Vegas, NV 89117. Rosary will precede Mass at 9:15am. The Rite of Committal will be offered at 11:30am Friday October 13, 2017 at the family grave site in Laurel Memorial Park Cemetery, Tilton Road and English Creek Avenue, Egg Harbor Township, New Jersey 08234. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to: Catholic Charities of Southern Nevada 1501 North Las Vegas Boulevard, Las Vegas, Nevada 89101. Local arrangements by the Gormley Funeral Home LLC, AC.
